I have also just recently met a young man from Senegal and he proudly told me that he is Wolof! I signed up for the course as soon as I learned about it. It has been fun so far but I'm having trouble with some of the pronunciations. I would love to meet more people from Senegal here locally so that I can practice my skills. Judith <alimatou@tiscali.nl> Breda, The Netherlands - Saturday, March 29, 2003 at 13:02:47 (CST) Hi – my name is Pat Murray and I live in London. I am writing this for a very nice boy called Omar. Omar is 27 years old and lives in Kololi, in The Gambia. He is a font of knowledge - my husband and I went to the Gambia for the first time at the end of February this year and unless you know the ropes before you arrive, it can be a bit daunting. We found Omar during the latter part of our first week. He is a very exceptional young man, never asks for anything and is totally honest and genuine and really one of the most helpful people that we met. He has an uncle with a jeep and they can provide transport etc. for the proverbia trips to all the usual places but with aplomb ! Omar is very well known by the Official Tourist Guides and the local waiters and he is well liked and respected by them all. Two days before we were due to go home, Omar met up with us to present us with gifts that he'd had made for us - such a sweet gesture and beautifully made. He would be willing to meet up with anyone who is visiting The Gambia in the near future and would act as their guide or to just point them in the right direction. He can be contacted on the following email address for more information – omarbaldeh2003@yahoo.com. Thanks for your time in reading this. Regards Pat Murray – on behalf of Omar Baldeh Omar Baldeh <omarbaldeh2003@yahoo.com> Kololi, The Gambia - Monday, March 17, 2003 at 09:26:56 (CST) hi! really useful site !
